Schools are Looking for Help

Maybe its due to poor performance or just a plain old lack of resources. Schools around the country need your help.

Many are in academic watch or worse. Administrators need to provide acacemic help for their students. Perhaps even more pressing is the need to provide enrichment classes along with the academic help. Here is where tennis or an organization that you start comes in.

Another problem plaguing them is a lack of resources. Levy after levy is being defeated by voters. Because of this schools are being forced to cut back on services. Guess what they are targeted most. You guessed it. Sports!

Here in Akron the board decided to eliminate freshmen and junior varsity sports in high and middle schools. Varsity sports are proceeding on a pay to play basis. As you might suspect this is causing a severe problem for coaches.

Here is just one of the consequences of that decision. Athletic directors who schedule sporting events provide games or matches for both the varsity and junior varsity teams. With the elimination of jv sports athletic directors outside of the city of Akron are considering dropping the Akron teams from their schedules. Why, because they cannot also schedule the jv game

Many families are now being forced to pay to play or face the prospect of moving to a district that is financially more solvent.

Studies have shown that physical education, particularly in the morning before the academic day begins is extremely advantageous for students.

Whether before or after reading, writing and arithmatic,tennis can help to resolve both the academic and the problem of a lack of sports being offered at the various institutions.
