Tap Into High-School Tennis

I noticed something a few years ago. I often attend High-school tennis matches to support the kids that I teach. More and more I was struck by what I saw. Head professionals from the various tennis clubs in the area were always at the matches. Not only were they in attendace but also they had actually become the Head coach for the rival High-School team.
Later I learned that all of the tennis clubs were home to at least one or more High School team. And not only that, but the club's head pro was also the head coach for the teams.
Why is this important? Well for one it provides a place to practice during inclement weather. That's a huge deal here in Ohio. Boy's High School tennis season starts in April. The weather here in April is predictably lousy with many matches being played in snow.
Obviously high school teams attached to indoor clubs get much more consistent practice and with a professional. I think we all can see the that the scales would be tipped in the favor of High School teams that are coached by the head pro from a tennis club.
So what do you think I did? I recruited a couple of High School tennis teams and began conducting clinics for them. The kids love it. They are getting exhilarating professional tennis instruction. Many are receiving lessons for the first time ever. Their parents display prideful smiles at the improvement of their kids. Many have opted for private lessons.
Another added benefit is many of the High School tennis players attend the community tennis program on the weekends during the fall and spring.
Many high school tennis players are disenchanted with the clinics offered at tennis clubs. You know their problem. If they are not in the top group they are relegated to the end courts and don't get the same level of care. That makes them open to me to help our organization grow.
