Education Program Delays and Prevents High-Risk Behaviors
If you are like me, you are going to need some help securing financial resources. Your education program is the key to securing funding.
Sooner or later you are going to need an education program if you are trying to make a difference in the lives of young folks; that is if you need some money. If you're loaded that's not a problem. The same holds true if you know someone whose loaded and they like you.
But if you are like me, you are going to need some help securing financial resources. Unfortunately most of those resources (funders) won't give you money because they like you. They won't even give you money because you have a dynamic, engaging program for youth.
Funders don't fund sports program. They fund sports programs that have drug prevention/education components. Additionally they display a special affinity for prevention programs that have been evaluated.
The prevention program we use is "All Stars". All Stars is a community based program designed to delay and prevent high-risk behaviors in adolescents. By fostering development of positive personal characteristics All Stars prevents or delays involvement with violence, premature sexual activity and substance abuse.
Both kids and parents involved in our All Stars program give positive evaluations. One parent remarked that she loves the communication aspect of it. Here kids have to get her feedback regarding their group assignments. More information about the All Stars program can be found at Substance.html.
